Green Bay Packers on a Title Run

hj

The Green Bay Packers have risen from earlier losses to make a clear run to a Super Bowl championship thanks to their leader and sage, Aaron Rodgers.

After falling to a 4-6 record in the middle of the season, Rodgers infused his team to stay calm, be confident and we will “run the table” to get back into contention. His prediction was a prelude to any doubters as the Packers now own the NFL table with an impressive seven game winning streak.

Winning the NFC north division was just a message to the other playoff teams —- just ask the NY Giants.

Rodgers great playing ability is contagious and his leadership is serving notice to his playoff opponents that the Packers will continue with their winning streak.

The Packers were stymied in the first half by the Giants swarming defense. But wide receiver Randall Cobb and Aaron Rodgers score a touchdown on an improbable “Hail Mary” pass as time ran out in the 2nd quarter. A halftime dominance by the Giants was now a 14 to 6 deficit. A real dagger to the heart of the Giants defense. A vintage Rodgers performance.

Rodgers elevated his game after a tough first half. He passes for 362 yards on 25-of-40 passing with four touchdowns.

During his seven game winning streak, Rodgers has completed 70 percent of his 240 pass attempts for an average of 289 yards per game with 19 touchdown passes and no interceptions.

When Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie went to the locker room with a thigh injury, the Giants’ defense became vulnerable in the middle and Rodgers took advantage. The game shifted a little and the Packers knew Rodgers would guide them to victory.

Rodgers was on a mission and when he finds an opening he connects. Slicing apart the Giants’ strong defense for 38 points is part of Rodger`s explosive arm and deadly accuracy from any field position. Give him one inch and he take that mile from you. No lead is safe.

Once Rodgers got going, the Giants didn’t stand a chance. And that was against the best defense Rodgers is going to face in the NFC playoffs.

Green Bay will put up points against the Cowboys but can they stop the Dallas running game or slow them down and not give up the big passing play which is their perceived weakness.

The Packers’ defense, led by Clay Matthews and Mike Daniels, is strong against the run. Green Bay stands a chance of at least slowing down the Dallas run game but vulnerable to deep passing routes.

Can rookie quarterback Prescott continue his stellar play and hit those over 30 yards pass plays which he needs to win the game. Dallas will need at least 28 points plus to beat the Packers. The Packers need their best output to beat the top seed in Dallas.

The Falcons or the Seahawks are not going to stop Rodgers and the Packers if the Packers do win in Dallas. Either of those teams will have home field advantage if they do match up against the Packers. Green Bay will be on the road for the rest of the playoffs. If they beat the Cowboys in Dallas, their Super Bowl odds will drop down and be close to the New England Patriots at around 3 to 1. A Super Bowl run for the title fits the Packers with a legendary quarterback at the helm.
