NFL Betting Opportunities to Wager on Now for Long Term Profits

Betting MLB

After winning eight straight division titles with at least 12 victories in the last seven, you should probably be an overwhelming favorite according to oddsmakers. That is certainly the case for the New England Patriots, who are -500 favorites to take home their ninth consecutive AFC East title. At minus 500 ( 5 to 1 ) you should consider this wager now before it goes up to -650 or -700. The books have to put up a starting number before the season begins just to keep pace with others jumping on the NFL betting bandwagon.

New England leads the pack of divisional favorites heading into the 2017 season for obvious reasons most bettors understand.

After pulling off a remarkable historical comeback last February to win Super Bowl 51 and their fifth Vince Lombardi Trophy, the Pats are the team to beat again this year. Does anybody really think an AFC East team has a shot at the division title. There might be some upsets but Buffalo, NY Jets and Miami are playing for second place. Laying the minus 500 is nothing to be concerned about. This opportunity is there for long term profits, if you do not mind waiting for the season to end to collect your bet.

But two other NFC squads are strong chalk to win their respective divisions as well.

The Seattle Seahawks are listed at -350 ( 3.5 to 1 ) to win the NFC West for the fourth time in five years while the Green Bay Packers are -140 ( 1.4 to 1 ) to take the NFC North for the sixth time in seven seasons.

The Seahawks have less competition than any team in the league, with only the Arizona Cardinals likely to challenge them as the +300 second choice. The Los Angeles Rams (+1200) and San Francisco 49ers (+1800) are way behind both teams and are expected to be among the worst in the NFL again.

Another golden betting opportunity to consider for long term profits with a Seattle wager at only -350 ( 3.5 to 1 ).

For the Packers, the Minnesota Vikings are +225 to beat the Packers for the division title. The Detroit Lions are listed at +425 and the Chicago Bears back at +1200. Green Bay had early season problems last year but they got over their hump and got to the NFC title game after their upset of the Cowboys in Dallas. Laying -140 on the Packers and Rogers is a cheap price to pay for the best quarterback in the league.

Favored Contenders

  • New England Patriots at -500
  • Seattle Seahawks at -350
  • Green Bay Packers at -140
  • Pittsburgh Steelers at +110
  • Dallas Cowboys at +115
  • Atlanta Falcons at +170
  • Oakland Raiders at +150
  • Kansas City Chiefs at +250
  • Houston Texans at +175

The NFC East and South are expected to be far more competitive, although the Dallas Cowboys (+115) and Atlanta Falcons (+170) are still favored to repeat in their respective divisions and maybe worth a wager as slight underdogs.

No division in the AFC has four quality teams than can win it. The closest race in the AFC could come in the AFC South, where the Houston Texans are +175 favorites to win it for the third year in a row. As bad as the Jacksonville Jaguars have been recently, they have a shot at +550, with the Indianapolis Colts (+200) and Tennessee Titans (+225) in between.

The AFC North and West look to be three-team races. The Raiders are favored to win the AFC West at +150 over the Denver Broncos (+210) and Kansas City Chiefs (+250). In the AFC North, the Pittsburgh Steelers are +110 to win their second straight division title, with the Baltimore Ravens (+175) and Cincinnati Bengals (+250) looking to stop them.

NFL betting opportunities are just for those few teams that perform with better talent and coaching. Long time winners like New England, Seattle and Green Bay are teams that succeed and the books realize the odds will not stop savvy bettors from these long term profits.
